Spotify just announced its new partnership with GIPHY to create a new music era through GIFs. At the launch party, the guests like the Weekend, Doja Cat, Nicki Minaj, Post Malone showed their updated Spotify-linked GIFs on their official GIPHY page. And other artist’s accounts will be added over time.
Global users find the features on those verified GIPHY artist pages. Also, they get this through their mobile app and also GIPHY’s website. We need to follow the steps mentioned below:-
- Search for your favorite artist’s GIF who is available on GIPHY’s mobile apps or GIPHY.com.
- After getting the artist’s official GIPHY channel then tap on your favorite GIF that you want to use.
- Click on the “Listen on Spotify” to participate in any GIF.
- Then you can take the artist’s Spotify page directly and enjoy even more music from the artist you love.
The idea behind this collaboration is to connect Spotify into each and everywhere, where GIF is used every day like text message, group chat, etc. Therefore the promotion will happen throughout social media like Snapchat, Facebook, and Instagram, where users can share music according to their mood through GIFs. Also, it is a business strategy to capture some social media audience into the Spotify platform. It also helps to give an artist significant popularity through sharing their GIFs.
Spotify also clarified this partnership to mainly focus on bringing more interactive and realistic experiences through listening.
This collaboration would be an expensive collaboration for all time. Both want to collaborate with social media giant Facebook. Facebook bought this popular GIF platform through a deal worth $400 million in 2020. Google also wants this deal and snatch up GIPHY’s rival tenor from Facebook. So Facebook and Instagram work hard to get better features about this GIF.
This controversy mainly starts when Facebook and Spotify collaborate.
Spotify says that the brand-new feature will be available globally soon from verified GIPHY artists’ pages.
